front suspension arm re-chroming

i want to re-chrome the front suspension arm but not sure how to remove the bushings?

also handlebars it seems its a major undertaking to find a straight re-chromable bar. i've been looking for a 7/8" replacement and found several bars that fit that description but just need some clarification;

knurls on bottom of bars? does or don t need them?

higher rise bars need longer cables can these be custom made to fit?

I've used bars without knurls before on other bikes without a problem.

Some shops can make up cable sets from scratch, or Motion Pro will make them to order I believe.

May be a little pricey though.

The fibre bushings are quite delicate but can be removed if you make up a special tool. The steel-backed rubber bushings need a heavier version of the same puller.

ummm so if i take the arm to a machine shop they should be able to press them out and back in or pull them out and press them in

The fibre bush is very fragile so you cannot just press it out as it will collapse. My tool is a close fit on the inside of the bush and supports it as it is being pulled out. A bronze bush would be a better replacement. If you get some made then you won't have to worry about damaging the original.

I'm going to make my own bushes when I put mine back together.
