One Piece Exhaust/Silencer CB72/77 fits all ?

Quick question - can you fit the 1 piece exhaust/silencer to any of the CB72/77s
or does it need different mounting brackets ?
Can you ix and match so 1 piece on one side and 2 piece on the other ... ?

Phil, I know that the one piece has a mounting bracket that attaches to the back of the muffler, but I think it mounts the same way to the bike. One caveat is that the brackets are hard to find.

If the muffler has the mounting bracket which mounts to the middle and ya have the correct front ring and spacers it will fit.
No problem having the early on one side and the late on the other. ............lm

There was on on ebay from David Silver's but it expired before I read your reply so I only went
up to £45 ( about $50.00 ? ) and someone else got it but maybe they need it more.
I'll keep an eye out in future though.

Hi,

Be carefull when you mount two different mufflers on a cb72 / 77, make sure the mufflers have the same internals, else I strongly advise you to look for two the same mufflers.

Different mufflers have different internals and thus different ways of working.

I did a lot of testing with different muffler pares (on the dynoyet) and the early two piece systems are more open and revhappy compared two the later one piece mufflers, also the sound of the mufflers are different. Different mufflers aquire also different carbs and settings, the danger having a to lean micxture in one of the cilinders is big.

Using two different mufflers can lead to expensive damage to the pistons, cilinders and crank.

THE QUESTION/ANSWER WAS FOR THE HONDA CB72/77 MUFFLERS. HONDA ISSUED A MUFFLER SYSTEM AFTER/AT THE END OF PRODUCTION WHICH HAD THE HEAD PIPE PERMANENTLY ATTACHED THE MUFFLER. THE MAKE-UP OF THE MUFFLER WAS THE SAME AS THE EARLY AND USED THE SAME BAFFLE SO I EXPECT YA CAN MIX/MATCH WITHOUT A PROBLEM IN THE ENGINE. ......lm
