Adam Tucker wrote:Sorry this is a bit off subject, but I wondering what model 305's used a swing arm bolt which had oil zerks on both ends of the bolt. I first realized that I didn't have the correct bolt for my 67 Cl77, when the nut for the bolt barely caught 2 threads. I did get the correct bolt for my bike off ebay, but I am curious as to which model years used the shorter double zerked bolt.
Thanks

Now, if I'd read the Post Subject header correctly, I'd have noticed that it's titled "Swing arm bolt", so why I decided to make a 'metric conversion' into "Rear axle bolt" is just infathomable!e3steve wrote:Well, well, well; my rear axle nut's on the right, too. And I'd never noticed!
When I got my CB I was unable to correct the rear brake cable's sharp exit from the right footpeg support for the same reason stated in Lee's opening post. If the swing arm bolt is installed from the left, therefore placing the nut on the right, then the r/h peg angle cannot be placed at the proper detent.

The CL72 used the bolt which had the rear brake cable "receiver" (end holder) screwed into the left end. The CL77 had that end of the cable fitted at a lug welded to the frame tube. .............lm

Thanks for the info,
