Clutch Cable
Clutch Cable
I just picked up a 305 Dream and it's been a long time since I had a bike with mechanical cables. There are little fittings on the brake and clutch cable. I bought a book on ebay but I haven't got it yet and I was wondering what kind of lube I should use? The clutch cable is very stiff when I pull it but it looks relatively new. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks... Ron

Re: Clutch Cable
I'd steer clear of using white lithium grease on cables. I would actually steer clear of it for anything but that's a different topic. Use some teflon based lube or something along those lines. I've heard stories of people using grease and then over time it gets gummy leading to a sticky clutch or worse, a sticky throttle cable.
