Can JB Weld be used to seal a gasoline leak around the pressed in discharge fitting in the petcock? Or should I try to sweat it in?
Mine is extremely loose. I have tried tapping it in with a small hammer. It holds until I start the engine then it vibrates loose and begins leaking again almost immediately.
Gas leak in petcock on CA77
petcock leak
It's been my experience using jb weld on anything that touches gasoline will fail. Maybe others have had better luck. I would use gas tank sealer epoxy. The kind that comes in two parts that you mix together. It's made to stop leaks in gas tanks. It comes in direct contact and won't dissolve.
