Carb Rebuild - putting back together.

I just got my carb rebuild kit in the mail today from a 3rd party distributor *it's probably etiquette to leave dealers name out*

I asked the dealer to send me over the spec sheet for the correct air/fuel mixture turns, and the float level hight. All i want to know is if this sounds correct for my CP77 Keihin PW26 carburetors.

This is his message:


Hi Estevan, The float height on the CB77 floats is 26mm, now the Air/fuel
mixture screw on the carbs is 1 1/2 turns out from dead bottom. Any
questions call XXXXXXXXXXXX between 10am and 5:30 pm EST....

Sound right? Any preferences to when you are putting back your carb floats and air/fuel screws?

Float height sounds wrong to me.
PW26's on other models are 22.5mm, PW22's are 26.5mm
Not sure if there is anything different about CP models...they are not delineated in my book.

i am almost positive that there is no difference between cb and cp. what do you use to adjust the carb height? micrometer? or a special tool? i just looked up on youtube a guy making a DIY on float height and he uses a drill bit.. haha.

I use a cheap sliding caliper, but have used a sliding ruler, stick of wood, wire etc.
Measure from the gasket seat on the carb body to the outside of the float when the float just touches, but not depresses, the float valve.

Yep....forgot.....as I am used to the Dream carb.
