I'd like to see pics looking into the back of both of your carbs.

Thanks for all the help.

the slides are bottomed out as much as possible....maybe 1/16" of the cut out can be seen....which is how it was...not ideal, but cant seem to hit absolute bottom with this throttle cable...have tried before.

But the NEEDLE JET....Its pressed into the carb body?! Let me look!!!! This could be the issue, as I removed the main jet and main jet holder, but dont recall taking out the needle jet....I assume this is the piece that receives the needle as the throttle moves up and down...?

thx again

Yes, correct. You can see the top of it looking down the top of the carb with the slide removed.

they are in there!
I took off the main jet holder and looked up inside and saw a small piece of brass seated in there - which I have to assume is the needle jet.

Hopes were so high!

Well...looks like I will have to wait until the evening...work calls.

thx again...I will try and get some photos up..maybe there is something that I am not seeing!

Bottom Out

If you disconnect the throttle cable from the slider, then let the slider with its needle fall, where it stopped would be a true bottom out? At this point should you see any of the slider cutout? Can you start the engine from a true bottom out position?

Possibly, unless there is something stopping the slide from completely bottoming out. Yes, the bike should start, though you might have to turn up the idle screws. Pics would be helpful.
