We are using the Retro Bike rebuild kits, and we are using the cork gasket, and it swelled up and ends up cover half of the hole. Kigs, as far as I know we don't have non ethynol gas here in CA. It all has additives in the gas. California is a smog crazed state.
HT- Did you just order the rebuild kit from Honda directly?
Does anyone know the exact fuel capacity of the early 1961-62 tanks? (smooth no seam)? I should have payed attention when I first put gas in it, but I wasnt thinking clearly because I was so excited to ride it. Now, I havent run it dry and refilled it. I am trying to figure out a base line of miles per tank, which im sure will save my hide when Im out on a long ride where gas stations are scarce.

Kellie,
My 1961 250/300 owners manual states 2.6 gal as fuel capacity.
The lower cork gasket and upper rubber one are on e-bay right now,

The cork gasket is gasket B, 16956-250-010 and the Upper rubber gasket is gasket A, 16995-250-020.
Honda doesn't sell a bundled kit, you would have to order the individual parts.

This is a parts diagram showing the parts and numbers.

I took it for a ride this evening..... I mean whats FEB. 14th without a good ride, before dinner with hubby? IT RAN AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! I got it up to 60+ and then backed off the throttle. I figured, I didn't want to jinx myself! It ran soooooo good, no coughing fits, and wow what a difference it made with the clutch plates fixed! Thanks to all who offered their words of wisdom and incredible knowledge. I truly appreciate it! Happy Valentines Day!
