A previous owner used a knife or such to cut and remove the fuel lines on the down tubes of the fuel petcock on my Superhawk. They left a cut across the barbs which hold the fuel line. I want to fill in these cuts with some compound to prevent leaks after new fuel lines are installed. I've thought of JB Weld or epoxy primer, but I keep thinking there must be something out there for this exact thing. Certainly I'm not the first person to have this problem.
I'm new to Honda305.com. I feel fortunate to be able to access so much 305 information in one location, and I hope to meet fellow Superhawk owners.
Fuel Petcock question
I’d just try the new fuel line with clamps to see if it really does leak before thinking about a fix. If it does leak, I think I’d use solder (on well cleaned parts) and then carefully file the soft solder down to the profile of the barbs. Unless the cuts are really, really deep, I don’t personally believe you need to do anything.
