idle riding up and up and up
idle riding up and up and up
got my bike fired up and it sounds amazing. adjusting idle has been quite a task though. after setting idle screws to where the motor purrs, after a few revs of the throttle, the idle climbs up and up until i have to choke it or turn the bike off to kill it. i did rebuild the carbs with a keyster kitbut not sure if that is part of the problem...

Are the slides in the carb sticking open? If you pull the boots off, you can use your fingers to feel the slides move as you work the throttle (engine off of course).
If the slides are closing, you should check to see if the jet needle on the slide has the clip installed right. If the needle can push into the slide, it can cause the engine to rev. I had this happen on another motorcycle and it took me a long time to sove that one.

Re: idle riding up and up and up
Ya have one slide way to high and it is running the engine at idle.
Turn both slide screws out until the slides bottom them follow the process in the FAQ "how I tune my engine" and it will help to adjust the idle RPM. ........lm
