I am amazed that you are running rich with the main metering pin all the way down to it’s leanest. Plus 5000 feet altitude. This almost surely has to be a float level problem.

Main needle and jet caused it to run rich, idle jet will work ok.I ended -up putting the original main and needle back in.

I'll have to look it up but I thought it was 22. What is the symptom of improper float level other than spill over if the needle valve won't seat?

• PW22 carb: 25.5mm float level
  PW26 carb: 22mm float level

A PW22 carb with a 22mm float height will run rich, foul plugs and possibly flood the ports. The fuel surface in the float bowl, at 22mm (carb inverted), is too high.
