Re: Part from the sidestep

I recall posting some writing and pictures about CB77 side stands, on the original "static pages" area of the honda305.com website - my 1964 CP77 had one. That was a few decades ago, but you can find the info with some searching - all the original parts of the website are still there...

Re: New member form Massachusetts

Welcome to the honda305 Forum, Alan! That's an ambitious looking set of parts you have there! I hope to see your progress with it! Staying with the projects and NOT getting sidetracked is a supreme Zen master skill that not many have reached. Guilty as charged, with several such in the mix in my gar...

Re: Bill's CB77 Retirement Project

I've never heard of brake linings melting away during storage, but wearing away from overuse - definitely! IMO, your "why was it parked" hypothesis is sound logic.

Why not try to get the motor running as is, just to see what it does. You could always dive in deeper later on...

Re: 65 CB77 rear fork reassembly

BTW, At the current state of development the GPTx systems are unreliable, especially when it comes to information that may be hard to find. They will just make something up and present it as confidently as it does for correct information. Tim is right on! I've also seen it happen, even with casual ...

Re: CL72 FRONT BRAKE UPGRADE

If you have the original and the less common configuration on your bike, don't rush to replace it. The CL72 stuff is typically scarce and valuable for the originality of the CL72 design. I am sure you can swap in the larger components, but be sure to save all of the original parts.

Re: Why does that happen?

Since you did detect some temp variance between the sides, at least once, maybe an IR thermometer could be useful.

Are your spark plug resistor types? I would try confirmed 'non-resistor' plugs with your original leads and caps - and 'resistor' plugs with the new caps.

Re: Bill's CB77 Retirement Project

I have a lot of respect for "rustorations" and most of my projects are on that level. Patina can be a deep asset and easily lost. I take great delight in having a variety of machinery working well, regardless of the cosmetics. When I can afford it, I buy something in great condition and do my best t...
