Re: petcock bodies from thailand

I've installed one on my C72 and it's been working perfectly for over a year, but it required a few adaptations because it had some faults. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=petcock+honda+c77+dream&_sacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p4432023.m570.l1311 Everything is explained below https://www.honda305.c...

Re: C72 from France

The motor is almost completely dismantled. Apart from the pistons/cylinders (especially the right-hand one), the rest of the engine has not suffered. https://i12.servimg.com/u/f12/13/66/97/79/20250716.jpg I've got almost all the parts I need to rebuild the engine ... now I just have to find the time...

Re: C72 from France

Trouble with my C72 during a vintage bike tour in Auvergne. Stupid, undetectable failure! The clutch rod oil seal came out of its housing and the oil drained .... into the sealed chain case. I didn't realize it because there was no oil on the engine or on me! https://i12.servimg.com/u/f12/13/66/97/7...

Re: Dream CA77 305cc bogging down

You have to realise that this engine only delivers its maximum torque and power at high engine speed and the gearbox is very badly designed, with a huge gap between 3rd and 4th. I can't climb a hill with my C72 in 4th gear if the engine speed isn't high, and most of the time I shift back to 3rd gear...

Re: "Grinding' noise from transmission

My C72 also makes transmission noise. It hasn't got many miles on it and I've dismantled the gearbox, which is in very good condition. I think that this noise is normal, due to the gearbox pinions which are on the right side (I doubt the translation "pignons à taille droite") and which whistle like ...

Re: new guy here with some questions

Current condensers, mostly Chinese, are of poor quality and unreliable. They can be moved to make them more accessible, but beware: the longer the connection, the lower the efficiency. There are two alternatives: - install an electronic condenser. They are reliable and efficient. In France, a crafts...
