i used 1/4 inch vacuum line (black) slit down one side.

he proubaly means that it could take that to make it look and run properly again, (if you pay someone else to do the work, and source parts) and is open on price.

yes, spot welded. you have to drill out the weld/welds

this is identical to the originail benley rack, the only difference is the mounts were changed for the size of bike it went on.

Reminds me of the time I "tumbled" a gas tank filled with drywall screws in our dryer , wrapped in blankets.
