I would suggest holding the nut (or bolt head, whichever is inside) with a stout box-end wrench or impact socket on an L-handle ("breaking bar") and go at the outside part with another box-end (or L-handle) and a hammer or impact wrench. It will either come loose or break the bolt - either one works!

I went through 4 different rebuild sets on my C77, all from different sources, and all of them swelled. I gave up and went with an after-market valve. The original is in the parts box for the next masochistic owner! ;)

The original bars had been damaged and welded (poorly). I doubt you would want them.
