Thanks G Man. I will read your restoration. I am at a pivital stage with this bike. If I can get away with a cylinder hone, rings, cam chain, maybe cam shaft bearings, cleaning up the head, I would be a happy camper. This was my daily commuter last year (only 10 mile round trip) and ran great.

I know the answer. I also have low compression. It is the rings. Time to start making a list.

Cam chain tensioner wheel

I had no adjustment left in the cam chain adjuster. Took it out and see the wheel looks kinda gnarly. Tried to post pictures but was not able to. I'm guessing the chain needs replacing. This will have to wait till next winter. Will replacing the wheel buy me time, maybe 1000 miles over the year?

Can I take the cam chain tensioner off my motor without removing anything else. I just went to check the tension and it appears stuck. I am following Bill Silvers instructions on how to check and because it is stuck and I would like to pull the tensioner off. Hence my question about whether I can si...
