Re: CL-77 "VIN" vs Engine numbers
Bill, I agree with D and Rusty. If the numbers match of frame and engine match within 8 on the last digits, it is almost 100% certain that these are original from the bike being delivered new. My 1964 CB 77 numbers are 4 apart. Bill Silver's invaluable restoration guide says that the original number...

Re: Elektronik Sachse Ignition - Junk, Do not buy
Jlovvorn, I had the same experience with these special bolts. The problem is the material is not up to the job and the machining is a bit suspect. In support of the supplier they were very quick to provide me replacements. In fact. I had a back up plan to replace them with steel parts but did not ne...

Re: New Cb77 project
Beautiful restoration Greg and good it is running well. I found on my 64 CB77 that the handling was much improved by fitting new Michelin M45 tyres, rebuilding the forks and replacing the shocks with Hagons. Not sure what the contribution was on each but I suspect the tyres were a big part of the im...

Re: Late model cb77 footrests - spring?
Greg,
Have the same problem with them folding up when raising my foot from the ground. Thought maybe to tack weld them in the down position. The CB72 I owned in the 1960’s had the non-folding type which were much more practical.

Michael,
Thanks for sorting the forum and eliminating the spam. I was reluctant to visit often perhaps because of the risks from the hackers. I hope others will return to this excellent forum which is an invaluable resource of Honda 305 data.
Great job!

Re: 1963 CYP77
Graham, You have been busy! A pal of mine had a C110 when we were 16 year old kids. Seeing yours brings back some memories of haring around at 50mph! I had a red S65 with the high exhaust which seemed sporty at the time. The CB400F looks brilliant too. Just having a hip done in hospital and hoping t...
