Rocker Arm Slop (In The Shaft Axis)
While I was adjusting the valves I noticed the left exhaust rocker arm had extra play on the shaft. That is, the arm could slide ~1/8" (total) along the axis of the shaft. It was the only arm that had that much play. Is this a problem? Do I need to fix this NOW or can I ride it for a while?<br ...

Re: It Was The Spark Plug Wires
Hi Everyone:
She runs good now! First, I'd like to thank Loud Mouse for talking with me and suggesting what to check. It was a great help!

After eliminating the carburation as the source of the problem, I decided to swap the coils. In the process of swapping, I did what Loud Mouse su...

Re: oil filter
DJBarcy:
Just curious how you are planning to make that. .002 (inch I assume) is about as thick as foil. Punch out the hole and tin snips for the outside diameter?

Tom

Re: Problems With Ignition Advance?
That's what I thought, too much advance. I did use a electrical test light when timing the points. I wonder if this is caused by me timing the points with the spark plugs out? Maybe without compression, the backlash in the valvetrain (chain, sprockets, etc.) was not taken up? I did the final static ...

Re: Throttle cable
I bought some vintage aftermarket throttle cables from Rick's Vintage Hondas. 310-328-7003. They look almost identical to my originals, except the body is plastic where it splits from 1 to 2 cables.

I haven't installed them yet...

Tom

Re: PETCOCK REPAIR KITS
I bought mine from Ohio Cycle. I installed it about 1 month ago and it still works great. I did put a little lithium grease on the rubber pieces. Not hard to turn.

I've heard if there is alcohol in the gas, the rubber will swell.

Tom

Re: Sticking Throttle
I found some aftermarket throttle cables. These have a plastic body at the 1 to 2 split. I'll make a report after I install them (I'll probably ride the bike until the tank is empty).

Tom
