lock tight.
The holes did line up but I didn't think about using O-rings. Also, since I left the screws so loose, I did use a bit of lock tight. I'm thinking if I had used O-rings I would have had to tighten the screws at least as tight as the first go round and they would have all been wrecked again. Too much ...

CB77 badges not from Thailand.
Well, have gone two rounds now with the plastic e-bay badges not from Thailand and I can't screw them on without breaking them. Second go round I put a bead of silicone on the badges and screwed in as lightly as possible. Five min later I noticed the bulls eye crack pattern around one screw again. S...

When I say I turned the screw in 1 turn from two I mean that it is now set 1 turn out and is leaner than initial setting of two. Anyways, it is well known that setting the float height dry is only good for getting in the ball park. If no one here knows where the final fuel height is supposed to be t...

Fuel level cb77 float bowl
Started my CB77 for the second ride and noticed the smoke bellowing out of it was getting worse. My first thoughts were bad rings or bad valve seals. Checked the plugs and found they were getting fuel rich sooty and not oily. Breathed a sigh of relief and then turned the air screws down to one full ...

Finally running
have here a late vin 67 CB77 Superhawk. Finally running after a couple of years. Not a restoration but a fix up. Kept what original parts I could and still looking for a few more... Chain guard, left cover are at the top of the list. Seat is done without trim installed, controls and signals are 1969...

zink
zink is known as a sacrificial coating and actually it does do it's job quite well. Have cleaned lots of hardware myself by soaking it in vinegar. Lots of times the stuff I start with looks like it'll be a goner for sure but once cleaned the original zink sacrificed itself quite well and kept the me...

Re-zink = tender
Have not yet had good luck with re-zinking hardware. The stuff comes back very tender and I have had to use paper towel bits to keep the wrench from leaving bare spots. When it came to restoring my CB77 hardware I just de-rusted it all myself in vinegar and painted it all with silver exhaust paint. ...
