The $13.99 light is junk, don't waste your money.

You might want to do a cylinder compression test before digging into the engine.
It'll help you narrow down the cause of the problem.

I think that's the bike that had us all drooling here on the Forum a year or so ago when the son of the original owner was posting trying to figure out what it was worth.

Just wanted to make sure there was no confusion on the fork boot clamps.
As Ed pointed out to me, "there was a change at (frame number) 1043097 which deleted the clamps and changed the top and bottom of the gator".
I should have known he wouldn't have missed something so obvious anyway.

The front fork rubber boot clamps are missing.
Both the early steel sliders and the late aluminum sliders (late like yours) had wire clamps on the top and bottom of the fork boots.

Ed corrected me..... the clamps were discontinued on the LATE late bikes, my mistake.

Excellent post on Xing transmissions, doing it today to a 337 engine I 'm building.
