If your engine passes the leakdown test it could still be OK. my C77 is rebuilt with Honda CB750/4 61mm pistons. these are a popular replacement for Dream engines as they are more readily available than O/S Dream pistons, but are a flat top piston as opposed to "Dome" top pistons fitted or...

Your problem is not the clutch!!!, if it was, the problem would be in ALL gears. These trannies are notorious for stripping teeth off 2nd gear, and I suspect yours has too and that is the "slipping" that you are getting. they also tend to wear the "dog teeth" on the gears which c...

ANY wear between the fork and hub are unacceptable and may cause the bike to jump out of gear. Find a new one and replace it!!

My C77 is the same, and the low charge rate is probably related to the capacity of the battery. The starter motor on these old bikes is quite a large amp draw (by todays standards) and the alternator is a low output, (enuff to keep the battery "up", but not charge it) and I was unable to b...
