Have you pulled the flywheel and checked/cleaned the points? Also clean any rust from the inside of the flywheel. The coil on the left or closer to the rear is the primary coil, the other coil is the lighting coil. No I havent. I was looking for 6v at the points and trying to trace wires. No wonder...

Yes..test it like any other diode. Best way is to use a battery and a test light. It should permit current flow in only one direction, kinda like a check valve. If it's bad. you can simply replace it with a single silicon diode like 3 amps or so. It's open both directions. Is it a Zener diode like ...

The c100/c105 is negative ground, but the ignition switch switches the negative side of the circuit rather than the positive. Please feel free to PM me if you need more info. Searching for 1963 C105 55cc wiring diagram
I can't seem to find a wiring diagram in all my books or net search for this early little bugger. Is it positive ground??? I thought I fixed it with a broken wire on the ignition switch, but that didn't get it. Can someone help me out here?
