I suspected the the one was missing a number and that the "L" is actually an "E". my father did the checking so I was un able to tell for myself.

Hi guys Newby user here. We have 6 Engines and are restoring 3 bikes all CA77 Dreams. I have been looking for the formula for identifying the years of these engines. Looking at this page I am confused. if the first number is the year then how is the first one inthis thread a 65? Sorry to be so Nieve...
