Thanks. I marked the sprocket so I believe it is good. Your description of cam lobes is exactly how mine is working. Need to make sure I have the timing correct on 1971 CL350: I have the left piston up and the mark at LT. I have the cam sprocket horizontal line parrellel with the top. OK.
