Cracked timing tensioner

I was riding my C72 yesterday when rear of the bike jumped to the left like it had run over something on the road. I stopped and noticed a vertical crack in the tensioner mounting plate where the tensioning rod is secured by the bolt. It extends maybe 15mm either side of the rod and only on the rais...

Australia anyone?

Apart from Wombat200, just wondering if there is anyone else from Australia on the site? If so where are you?
Cheers

Guys, thanks for your suggestions/advice, all taken on board. As far as the battery dying, I think it was just the fact that the battery was already run down prior to going out on a ride, plus running the bike with the lights on. I will be looking at updating the rectifier in the future but will see...

On the road but not without issues

Well after a fair bit of fiddling and a huge amount of research on this site and the web in general I finally have my 64 C72 dream on the road. I took it for its first ride today and it was rough but after about 15 minutes was running pretty well. The day was not without its issues however. Firstly ...

Thanks guys. I answered the first question myself when I took the Carby off today and had a decent look. The low speed jet was clogged and I cleared it out with a single strand from a wire brush. I then gave the bowl and body a clean with a toothbrush and some wire wool. Overall there wasn't much in...

Carby Clip and black wet plugs

OK my base knowledge is about zero. I have a 1964 C72 which I am trying to get on the road. It has been running/firing really well off the first couple of kicks or first press of the starter after a new battery and chasing down some shorts in the harness. I've only had it running for a minute or so ...

Lockable Fuel tank cap C72

Hi all,
just wondering if anyone is using a fuel tank cap for a C72 that can be locked? If so what is it?
Cheers
Maysie
