mine behaved in the same manner on my ca77. bought a used one on ebay for $50 and after 12 miles it behaved the same way as well. sent them both to foreign speedo and had them back in about a month, both fixed for $200 total. only installed one, but it works great.

the nice thing is that with the right equipment you can make pretty quick work of it. you could probably rent the heavy duty stuff for a weekend and get all the blasting and cleanup done. when i couldnt get my ca95 to idle i took off the mufflers and got about half a coffee's can worth of partial acorn shells out of the right side one. idles nicely now!

when i look at cmsnl ca77 parts diagram it's showing 6mm. the ca95 is , unfortunately, 5mm. doesnt look like theres enough clearance/sidewall to take it out to 6 either.
hmm ... looks like cmsnl may have the 5mm's ... lol.

ca95 petcock bolts and plate

trying to find some 5mm bolts for ca95 petcock. also need a spring plate if anyone has one to part with. may try to rig in a conical spring washer to fill the need for tension on the plate. i have the plate, but all 4 'tangs' were broken off. thanks !
