Now does the serial numbers work as such.....100000 to 1961, 200000 to 1962 and so on?

hey everyone,

i'm new here and i just got a hold of a cb77E, but i have no idea what year it is, it has the first generation speedo and the serial number is 313395. Does anyone have some literature on years of these bikes? if so what year is my bike? any help would be useful.
