Thanks, G-Man, for the explanation. It's as I thought.
I've been busy with yard work and other things, so I haven't been working on the bike much. I did pick up more parts from the painter and all that remain in his hands are the front fender and air cleaner door. I'll get them next week. I'll need to start assembly soon, if only to get the parts off the shelves and every available horizontal surface in my workshop. I really need the wheels at this point, but they're still at Central Wheel Components. It's been almost 2 months and I hope that I hear from them soon.
Small parts have been trickling in with one big disappointment. I purchased a NOS clutch adjuster from a vendor on Buyee that didn't pan out. Although the listed part number was correct (22841-266-000), it was just too big for its place in the right cover. I also noticed that the number on the face of the adjuster wasn't quite the same. Instead of "P14" it reads "P.14" (pic below). Oh well, another one for the miscellaneous parts bin.
