Hey G-man

Have you had a chance to run your bike with the overlander mufflers fitted? I ask because of the welded baffles - I enquired if they could be ordered removed, but they said it would be too loud! Hell I remember running stock mufflers as a kid with no baffles - I don't remember them being too loud.

I was interested if the overlander mufflers were quiet or is there a bit of a note?

Queensland is usually very beautiful and the climate is great - except when we have floods, cyclones or bush fires. You'll have to let me know when you are coming over.

The bike is still in pieces being painted so I haven't had chance to try them yet.

My trip should be somewhere between September and November. Not firmed up yet.

If you want to try stock mufflers you may get something from this guy. I have had stuff shipped over to UK from Japan and he is always very fair and prompt with shipping.

Muddy, you have your work cut out but, knowing you Aussies as I do (I've worked with many Oz yacht crew), I reckon you'll be a stout adversary for any shite that those puppies throw at you. Enjoy the trip and don't give in!

G'luck mate!!

Well, some progress to date.

In various stages of being stripped for painting.

Update - Stripped And Ready To Go!

All stripped, labelled, boxed up and ready to go. I'm going to give the powder coating a go at a local guy who assures me he knows what he is doing and appreciates the value of the bike. His work looks good.

The fuel tank has come back from the strip and dip and is ready for some red-kote liner, before going to be powder coated.

The spare tank has a two small solder repairs revealed after dipping. I'll bog these up with some filler and rattle can this tank.

Purists please beware, the planned colour scheme may offend!
