Today I tried to clean the inside of the fuel tank using electrolysis following the instructions on this site and had some success but there is still a layer of rust/varnish inside the tank. There seem to be a lot of products to remove the rust/varnish. Have any of you had success with these products?
1. Evaporust
2. Muriatic Acid
3. Lacquer Thinner
4. POR-15 cleaner and degreaser only (I don't want to exopxy the inside of the tank)

After trying the POR cleaner, I ended up using "toilet bowl cleaner" which, effectively muriatic acid. Worked a treat.

Apple cider vinegar and a few handfuls of roofing nails, with occasional shaking. I just tried it on a nasty KZ900 tank, it it looks new inside. Total cost was about $6. About a pound of rust flakes came out when I drained it.
I did find out that vinegar kills grass.
