They have a place in the US now.

Just put a box under the engine. Undo the bolts and lift the frame off.

For that much I will let someone else be the Guinea Pig :) This weekend I plan on dropping the engine and taking it down to the basement shop. How heavy are the engines dry?

That is how I have it now. It is sitting on a milk crate :) I will have to transport it from the garage, into the house and down to the basement though. I am a fairly strong guy, just wondering if I should enlist help for the moving portion

I have carried them on my own but I don't think I'd want to carry one any distance and definitely not down a flight of stairs. If you can get help, go for it.

Remove whatever parts you can to reduce weight. Every little bit will help.

Any hints on the rear brake cable removal from the hub

I don't recall it being an issue. Loosen the adjuster locknut and turn the adjuster enough to free the cable from the brake arm on the hub, and then unscrew the cable from the flange on the brake backing plate. Is yours stuck?
