Knee pads do come up but many decades in the North American sunshine takes its toll. The replica ones from Clauss Studio are probably the best bet. I have had a few used originals that just crumble.

I am slowly working through four of these bikes - two 77s and two 72s. I have brought quite a few parts back from the US. David Silver had a pile of CL77 bits a couple of years back which included just about everything. Sadly that stuff is now gone.

I'll PM you a list of stuff that I have later in the week. Do you know what year your bike is? First digit of the engine and frame number is the clue if it's pre '64.

It is a '64 I believe, frame/engine number CL72 11011** (5 apart)
I just missed out on a set of pillion footrests on eBay, a case of hesitation since I still don't know what is rare.
I look forward to your list of parts.

Checking the rear wheel parts on my 1964 CL72 and it seems to have an extra spacer

Overview of the assembly



After tightening the distance between the inner damper mounting and the hub is about the same +/_ 2mm which suggests the wheel is central.

After tightening the nut the spindle holes do not line up with the castle nut. I am aware the swing arm and wheel assembly was changed in 1964 prior to the later TLS brake change, are there 2 different length SLS rear spindles? and I have the wrong one.
