Twin CT90's: fixing up two trail 90's

Here is the two "yeller" bikes. I suppose this color was easy to see for safety, but it is my least favorite color of ct90's:



I am thinking of painting one of them Dream blue like the frame on the shelf behind them.



The pillion has a stain but no tears; the top tank seat has small tear in the front, I may be able to repair it; the bottom one is pretty bad shape, I'll probably send for one of them seat covers I have seen on the net.

Here in the Pacific Northwest it's been uncharacteristically dry and cold lately, it was down to 21F. the last two nights and had a pipe freeze and burst so it's been two days dealing with that; glad to get back in doors and talk about something for warmer weather: fixing the ct90's. The cold is why you see old red in the living room; it's just too cold to be in an unheated garage. In fact the day I took the first picture was Thanksgiving day and the next day my wife wanted to put up the Christmas tree and said that the "bike needs to move"
(I had to promise on a stack of my credit cards that The 90 would not leak one "Iota" of gas or oil when I brought it in). I tried to tell her that I thought the 90 was better looking then an old tree and it could be Santa's Off-road sleigh and I had found one of his helpers to get it running.

Sorry, I get silly when my grand kids are around.

Glad to see the attachments have been fixed.

Here is a few pictures of the two of the heads that were fixable, the first picture shows the damage caused by the p.o. trying to remove the point cam from the cam shaft with screw drivers, the other two show the exhaust pipe frozen in the port.

Head has been cleaned, valves taken out; going to send to Atv off-road shop, found a mechanic I think I can trust, have him cut the valve seats and install new valves.

Head is back from the atv shop, has new valves, seats have been cut, valves lapped in; holds 22.5 psi injected into intake and exhaust ports with-out bubbles, should hold good compression.

Great looking project. These little CT's are pretty cool and a blast to ride. Here's a pic of my original paint 64' CT200 that I picked up this Oct for 80 bucks. I replaced the seat cover and tires, rebuilt the engine, patched up the muffler, powdercoated a few small parts, and "cleaned" it up bit.



Top speed with the large sprocket and a 235# rider is about 25 MPH.
