A wrench on the generator bolt usually works well.

Ok and I assume turning anti(counter) clockwise so you don't remove the bolt? Do I need to worry about the clutch, I would think not as who cares if its engaged or not as their is no wheel to spin

Clockwise will keep the bolt tight. No worries about the clutch.

Oops, you are right. Clockwise it is. Thinking about it i could also insert something to catch the clip with through the tensioner port.

Master clip is out and head is off. Ended up using 2 precision pc screwdrivers. One through the top and one through the tensioner port. Clip came off and stuck to the screwdriver (guess it was magnetic). Same with the plate. Popped the link out and it and the chain slid to the bottom, tipped the engine and out the oil filter hole they came. Pistons are another story. Cylinders were filled with dirt/rust/and a bit of diesel the previous owner used to try and loosen it up. I soaked up the diesel, shop vac'd and picked out ost of the dirt, filled them back up with PB blaster. What can I use to gently remove the caked dirt from the cyl walls? Scotchbrite pad?

There other thing I was thinking of trying was picking up some evapo-rust and filling the cylinders with that. Would that be a better option?

Evapo-Rust would be as good as anything. I'm a believer in Kroil but in this case Evapo-Rust, in addition to penetrating and lubricating, should convert the rust too. I'm assuming it is rust that has it locked up. I use Evapo-Rust in my ultrasonic to derust and decrud with pretty good results.
