It's making its way, that is for sure. A little more progress today as I was able to get the front forks on--the only issue I have is the chrome rings that hold on the fork boots for some reason seem smaller than I remember them. I am guessing the repo rubber fork boots are thicker than they were back in the 60's.
Anyone have any remedies for this? Longer screw to hold them together?

Put my shocks together this morning and yes, my contraption for getting them together is a little rudimentary looking but hey, it works for me everytime and that is all I care. Plus, it was a cheap thing to make!!!

Put the back fender and a shock on---had to make it look somewhat like a bike plus it helps my brain see that yes, it is not too far away from being finished.
I need to find some chrome bolts and washers---anyone have ideas of where to find them? Google it and someone out there sells some in metric sizes?

Well, it was coming along nicely until yesterday's fun tragedy. I was working on putting on the clutch and was on the other side of my bench when all of a sudden a leg broke and everything came crashing down. I have a rear fender that is going to need a little fix on the paint, a grab bar that is shot (bent and the sad part, it was newly chromed), and the worst part of all, have to take the engine out and replace the lower engine case. When it fell, I didn't have the clutch cover on and it fell right on the gear shift spindle that goes into the case and it hit so hard it cracked the case and pushed it in a hair. When I picked the bike up I noticed that spindle was pressed up against the clutch with no clearance whatsoever and after careful inspection noticed it is pushed in a hair on the case and throwing the spindle up a little so it rubs on the clutch. I talked to Ed and I think he has a lower case to sell me, guess it could have been worse like the rear shock or something. I am definitely going to know the ins and outs of this engine I have had it apart so much. geez. Oh, and I think I am going to have to replace that gear shift spindle, the part the gear shifter goes on looks a little messed up too. Oh the fun!!

Made some good progress this weekend. Was able to get some wheels on the frame so it actually resembles a motorcycle now. This is when I get excited to get it done because I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
