I've ordered two more cans of black from 66 AutoColor. One is for the frame top coat, and I
I'll use the second to paint the gas tank. Once that frame gets the second coat - guess what - I can start reassembling the Old Girl! Light at the end of the tunnel!

Here's some progress. The headlight bucket is assembled, although I need to put the grommets in the holes in the bottom of it. The speedo just looks so nice living where it is supposed to! That new trim ring looks pretty nifty, too. The Old Girl is going to be a pretty bike!
I've primered the fork ears, fork tube covers, and grab handle. I need to color sand them before I shoot the top coat. I've decided I'm going to paint the sliders with black epoxy. That's a paint I've used before and it stands up well, plus keeps a nice shine.

Have you noticed that the fork tube covers are different from each other? One of them was white under the black paint. That leads me to believe it was replaced at some point, along with the fork leg it lived on. That's a bit of history of the Old Girl that I knew nothing about. Perhaps she'd been crashed at some point, before I got her. That would have been in the first five years of her life, I got her in 1971.

Thank you! I can't say enough about that 66 AutoColor paint. Here's the link:

Yes it does, Ed - a cable clip.
