It's clearly a later model like 67 or 68. Note the taillight and seat. The cables also look yellowed with age. Maybe we oughta start another thread on this one.
Transmission and Kickstarter Question

I want to make sure I have my kickstarter at the proper 11:00. And, today I was installing the shift lever mechanism. I had it in neutral and it slipped easily into 2nd. When I tried to shift back to neutral It was stuck, even when I roll the real wheel back and forth. Did I get a piece upside down in the transmission. And, the kickstarter works fine. I am asking because I would just as soon not drop the motor and split it again if I don't have to.

This is not the lever that installs at 11:00.
That is for the CL72/77.
This assembly has index marks on the gears which mesh on the inside and the kick lever has a mark which lines up with a mark on the end of the shaft. You will need to remove the cover and turn the kick starter shaft Clockwise to Stop then install the cover with the index (O) marks lined up.
If yo need more help with this (clear as mud) call me at 830-895-0654 while at the bike and I'll talk you through the process. ............lm

Thanks LM
I will go through my kick levers. Maybe I have the right one somewhere. I know how to do the indexing from our phone conversations. What do you think of my shifting back into neutral problem?

Steve,
You are using the correct kick lever. Ed is letting you know it doesn't get installed at 11 o'clock.
