clhiller wrote:Finally got almost all my pieces. Enough to get started putting everything back together. I bored the cylinders and put in new pistons and rings, new valves, all new seals, replaced any bearings that needed it, shimmed the tranny, rebuilt the carbs, new points, cam chain and roller, all new sprockets and chain, new tubes and tires, wheel bearings, cables, new repro mufflers, and everything that can be painted or polished has been. The pictures are off a little colorwise, as I din't have the white balance set properly. The red is a fire engine red, but it looks a little orangey under the flourescent lights. I'm just waiting until I can get a hand to install the engine. The last thing I want to do is drop it at this point!

It's coming along. It starts and runs like a dream....um...Superhawk! The only snag I have run into is the clutch cable which I got from Classic Honda seems to be too short. Am I doing something wrong with the routing?

So close! took it for a little spin tonight. First time I've ridden a Superhawk. I like!!
I'm waiting now for a headlight and a brakelight switch, and for my tank covers to get here. I need to set my valve lash a little better as it is pretty noisy even when warmed up.
How do you keep the speedometer gear unit from trying to rotate with the front wheel?
Eds' tune-up recipe says to adjust the screws to get the cylinder speeds the same. How do you tell? The slides and needles move at the same time, so how do you tell if the cylinders aren't synched properly?

Bike is looking good! make sure the speedo drive is lined up properly, ther are cutouts in the hub flange that must line up with the tabs on the drive unit. Tighten the axle nut while the lower clamps are loose, this will suck the axle against the drive. Feel the exhaust pulse to sync the idle screws.
