Dave,
Thanks for the info. I checked out that website and I think I would enjoy building my own wiring harness.
I plan on ordering a kit, but I am not sure what wire to use. Is the gauge of wire universal for bikes? I have worked with 12 and 14 gauge wiring for home and garage wiring, but nothing like this.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

Brad,
I have a box full of old wiiring harnesses that I mine through. Honda used the sam clor and gauge wiring for a long time. You can search Ebay, or a local swap meet.

I may have a problem here...
This is the front fender and f. fender stay that we had with the bike. They were never put on the bike 25 years ago when we got it from a friend. Based on the bolt holes these are not a match.
Problem #1: The fender looks the correct color, but only has 2 holes on top to connect to the stay. My guess is that it's the incorrect front fender. What is it actually for?
Problem #2: As I was attempting to install the stay (without the fender) it's VERY tight between the front forks. Should I expect it to be tight? To the point of curving the long straight sides of the stay in? This looks like the correct stay, but could it be wrong as well?

You have a fender stay for a CL72 or early CL77 with steel fork bottoms. This is called an 8-hole stay. The later fenders (like the one you show) and stays have only 6 holes. The actual fenders are identical except for the holes in the centre section.

Thanks G.
For my clarification, the fender shown is a 6 hole and the stay is an 8 hole?
So, I have the correct fender, by incorrect stay for my '66 CL77?

Yes, that's right. I'm not entirely sure whether the stay could be made to fit the forks. Those stays fetch big money so try and do a swap with someone or make sure that you get a 6-hole before you part with that one.
