Tom,
Looking thru all your pic's I didn't see a shot of the inside of the head. I almost messed up once and used a CL/CB72 head on a 305 engine. I didn't check for interference as I caught it early. Just a thought.

Thanks for the thought. It is a 305 head, the piston fits the dome.

OK, got the cylinders back from the bore and hone to S4. This time around I will use NOS cams and cam sprocket. They are the later shallow spline assys, so I dug around to find a points cam assy that had the smaller diam to fit the cam hole.

Cams are in now. I forgot to note earlier I keep a piece of copper pipe handy to lock the cam sprocket when I tighten or loosen the sprocket nut.

tom, will you be making a head gasket for the oversize bore ? or will you be buying one ?

Good call, using the copper pipe to lock the sprocket! Did you smack the nut tight with a blunt chisel? Or did you use the toolkit's pin wrench?
