Occasionally I don't like shopped or cafe classics, but this one is a nice looker.
You can lean out a bit more, hence the rear tyre profile.

I heard that the CL pipes on a CB72 / 77 do restrict the power somewhat, can you confirm that ?

In reference to the leak on the left side, where did you get your tach cable from? I got one from eBay which didn't have a proper sealing ring inside, which leaked a small amount of oil consistently enough to make continual mess. Fixed the problem with replacing a missing thrust washer in the drive, and more importantly getting the proper cable from Retrobikes.

How the top end performing?

Can't remember, but it may have been from ebay. I destroyed the thread by drilling out the broken retaining bolt. The drill kinda went sideways from me and the drill went all the way thru. Needless to say, it leaked from that hole. I figured the bolt would stop any oil leak, but it still weeped. With the replacement, no more leaks. So, the cable was ok. Good note though. So thanks. I'll check inside the cable the next time I have it off. The new oil leak is somewhere else, maybe the gasket from the tach drive. It ripped in a couple spots. I'll have to keep investigating after each ride.

Jensen: Thanks, I'm glad you like it. It's hard to say about the power. I only had the CB pipes for those 200 miles and I just put these pipes on. I'll have to keep a mental note on that one. Maybe, it won't rev as high?? I rarely rev it past 7-8k as it is. But the exhaust note is nicer to me. A bit lower. They are straight pipes versus baffled megas. I'll have to check my plugs after the next ride. I'll report on it later. Thanks for the heads up.

If anyone is interested, I have the headpipes, exhaust clamps/flanges/shims, Dunstall mufflers and centerstand on eBay (eyhonda-partsnbikes). Sorry if I was not supposed to post eBay auctions. If so, let me know.

i'm using a tach cable from retrobikes on my cb and it leaks from the crimped connection too.

Try replacing the oil seal inside the tach drive. If the oil stops there, then your leak is fixed. I had a hard time removing that retaining screw. So be careful. Use the correct Philips size bit and an impact driver.
