Ok everyone, thanks for the input! Turns out my condenser was bad. I had a backup, and it was bad as well. I ended up cutting the wires off and soldering them onto an aftermarket condenser from a 70 Nova 250L6 I got at the local parts store. So far, its running well. The carb needs a little tuning ...

Thanks folks for the input. I appreciate your time in helping me! The bike sat for maybe 5 years before I got it, but was a regular runner for many years. When I used the marine battery, I connected it with jumper cables. Maybe they touched something and shorted? And yes, the rectifier is original ...
