Dang, good eye. The wire is flattened somehow but it's not exposed. The silver color is just the reflection of the light. Still I'll replace it just to be sure. That is the same black wire as the one that I'm holding in the photo, so it is involved in this thing somehow. It just loops back around ...

Thanks guys. I had more time for troubleshooting and discovered some things. First off, I did take apart the ignition switch and I should have heeded your warning on that. If anyone is reading this I would not recommend taking it apart. There are ball bearings and small springs inside and it's not ...
