So, after putting all the friction disks and clutch plates together and closing the set with the pressure plate, I can move the plates/friction disk with my finger inside the basket assembly. Seems to have 1-2mm of play.
Is this normal, or should I replace the first plate that presently is 1.5mm ...

All five plates were about the same thickness, about 1.5mm, although the first one (plate A,closest to the transmission) was differently looking.
I did order a NOS plate A but didn't put it in as i was 3.0mm thick and the one I had inside was 1.5mm. Being a noob at clutch rebuilding I was ...

So i took my 1962 Dream 305 (CA77E-211680) clutch out to rebuilt it as it was slipping. It seems to take 1 clutch plate A (which I got) and 4 other plates p/n 22301-266-000 which i can't find. The closest in number matching is so far 22321-266-000.

Hi folks, on the subject of clutch plates, i am rebuilding mine right now. I have the friction disks (yes, 5) and wanted to replace the plates. When i removed them, 4 were identical with 7 notches on the inner "ring", while the outer most disk (closer to the transmission) has no notches.
Is that ok ...

I had done just that and the barrel would not come out and therefore the reason of my question. I thought there might be a trick to it. There a little groove to the top between the barrel and the frame: maybe one needed to push on something inside there.

I received the key I needed to be able to lock the front fork of my 1962 dream 305 (CA77) but despite the correct key #, it is tough to fit it in and impossible to turn it to lock the fork. I'd like to take the barrel out to check for rust and clean/lubricate the pins and springs.
