I checked compression today, 150's both sides, throttle open, no choke, air filters removed.

Went through Ed's tune up instructions step by step, left side was warm but not as hot as right. Still died when right side plug boot removed. So some progress but not enough yet.

I can pull the left spark plug boot off and bike still runs, no change in engine sound. Pulling the right side kills the engine, thus running on only the right side.

When you set the cam chain with the camshaft set at the punch mark, that looks like a 0 stamped into it with the pointers lined up to T on the stator. Is that the location when you set the valves or is it a rotation past that on the stator markings?

I would agree that both coils would go at the same time.

The odd thing is I get a different volt reading when I measure at the spark boot end, both are low in the 4 to 4.5 volt range. So would that be a bad wire running from the coil to the plug?
