I am a pragmatic kind a guy. Those "hen teeth" plastic badges that came attached to the side panels on my bike - when I first brought the bike home, they came right off and into storage. On went the cheap metal ones. To me, they look better, and they feel better too. When I accidentally scratch one, I cringe, but only a little.
