How to remove the kick start lever to replace clutch cable? How to remove the kick start lever to replace clutch cable?I'm trying to replace my clutch cable. I can't figure out how to get the kick start lever off to pull off the crankcase. It looks like I have to do something with the bolt located on the bottom (see photos). Any advice is appreciated.
P.S. I suspect that the crankcase cover is for a dream. But I can't confirm it for sure. -Scott- UPDATE: I spoke to the previous owner. The kickstart shaft is for a CL77. Not sure how much this affects my issue.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/1962_cb77_restore/ No, I wasn't sure exactly how to approach the removal of the pin. It looked like there was a specific way to nuzzle it out. God forbid I fall back to brute force and break the thing.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/1962_cb77_restore/ Hmmm, great to know. I removed the 6 side cover screws but it felt like it was still locked in right where the kick start lever was. So I assumed that I needed to remove that due what seemed like the kickstart lever being locked in underneath somewhere. I was hesitant of trying to pry off the thing with too much force and bending or breaking something thats near impossible to replace.
So it's just those 6 screws on crankcase cover?

remove stator coverRemove the stator cover, there's two more screws under there. #32 on your picture I think. I had same problem six months ago, even after removing kick starter. Luckily have a great advisor. Book's not always much help to ignorant folks like us. Have fun, your bike will look better with correct clutch cable.
Re: remove stator coverI see the screws you're referring to, but the crankcase cover will come off right over the stator no problem. The problem is this kickstart shaft. I have no idea how to get this thing out. I called the previous owner to which he replied:
I was able to get the kickstart lever off, but the shaft remains. And as I said have no idea how to get that out since it still seems locked in to turn the motor over. Ideas? I'm totally stuck here.
