Brake shoe condition

Post by Gun » Wed Jun 04, 2008 10:28 am

I'm not sure what condition my brake shoes surface should be in?
any ideas/pictures that might help me assess if my brake shoes are in alright condition?

Gun,

Be sure they are not soiled (Grease etc). Make sure they are not dis-bonded from the shoe and there are no chunks missing

If you are referring to the thickness of the pad then consult your shop manual to find the minimum thickness acceptable, get a cheap set of calipers and measure. And replace if they don't measure up.

Good luck
