I have an original 66 scrambler that Im restoring. The bike was my dad's and has been through some trama. The brake light switch was dangling from the wires near the rear fender and I have no idea where it goes. Can some one provide me some direction/pictures? I have a basic knowledge of the bike and I think I have all of the parts.
Also, since I got the bike in a few boxes does anyone have any good sources/wiring diagrams. The bike was torn apart by a half assed mechanic and reassembled by an old honda mechanic. Know I have to put the motor in the bike and I have to put everything back together. Last time I had it all together, when I turned the key on it made a load buzzing noise that was disturbing. I have had the bike totally together and running but now I have forgotten how to all goes together. What color of wires go to what coil(s)? Timing and sorts? The bike has about 3000miles.
Bike is all original unmolested as the original owner is my father. Bike has been run, off and on throughout the years but the kick start broke which started the journey with the half assed mechanics and such. I got the bike back in pieces and have reassembled it to running condition I just dont what to wreck it.
Im just looking for some advise and apprecient any that I can get........ I would love to call someone and just ask questions if I can...

Brake switch bracket/assembly/rod/helpCL77 questionsI might be able to help.....Just rebuilt a '65 CL. Ask awaY. Some pics of the brake switch and the area where the brake pedal shaft comes out of the LH side of the frame would help to answer you switch questions.
Not sure what you have to work with to be specific at this time. Gary '65 CL77 Owner
Brake switchLong story but here's the bottom line.......
On CL, a "Washer" if you will, is/was welded to the frame just above and to the rear of the arm on the rear brake pedal shaft where the rear brake cable attaches. The little arm with the hole in it (On the main arm) is where the nylon stop attaches that bumps up against the plunger on the brake switch. If there is no washer welded to the frame in this general location, you're in the same boat I was/am in. Don't bother looking at any parts manual or repair book for this "Ring"/"Washer" as it isn't shown. Look closely at the switch as the ring may have broken off and is still between the switch and the jam nut (On the plunger side of the switch). If you don't already have the frame painted or powder coated (Like I did when I found out my washer was missing) you can have one fabricated and weld it in place. I presume these were the first things to snap off when a CL was laid over on it's LH side. I had to fabricate a self designed switch mount for my '65 CL as I didn't want to weld to a freshly powder coated frame. Hope this info helps.
